TREE PROGRAM UPDATE #4
What has been going on with the tree program in Greenhills?
- Tree pruning and some removals continue throughout the Village.
- Comprehensive work in the “H” block begins NEXT WEEK.
- Our Arborist has completed the annual assessment of all trees in the Village, and identified a number of trees for removal or pruning that we will be following up on in the next few months.
- A more intense assessment of the trees in the B-block is underway and may take a few weeks to complete.
- The entire route of the Red, White & Blue Parade has been clear-pruned.
What is clear-pruning? It is when lower limbs are removed to a height
of 8 feet on sidewalks and 14 feet on the streets to allow pedestrians and vehicles, respectively, to be able to walk and drive without hitting a tree limb.
Click here to see a map that will give you a sense of where we are with the clear-pruning of Village streets. Streets marked in yellow are currently being worked on; streets highlighted in green have or are being done; streets highlighted in purple are being assessed now and will be worked on later this year; and the streets in blue remain to be done and will be within the next 2 months.
